Let's finish out the month of March with the meals, and then we'll let Jean put her "No More Dinners" sign up... See Jean's comments below that were posted on the blog over the weekend.

Once again I thank you all from the bottom of my heart for the dinners, prayers and continued support. I am finished with chemotherapy. I will continue on the AVASTIN for 9 months. I am hoping to regain my strength ---slowly but surely--- so No More Dinner sign up!! You have all been so kind and generous and the food was very helpful to me. More than you can imagine because it not only saved me from having to prepare and cook, but from having to shop!! A BIG THANK YOU TO EILEEN FOR SETTING THIS DINNER CHAIN UP !!! XOXOXO JEAN

Good lord - so sorry - I have a blog for my family (caring for my elderly parents) and i just posted on brownhavenmeals - and I don't know how to UNDO.  Please excuse my tech gaffe.

Good morning to all of our Iron Chefs!  I wanted to just take a moment to express my gratitude to all of you for participating in the dinner chain.  It is so easy to get caught up in our to-do lists, and all of you continue to amaze me when I send an email and you all rush to respond and help.  I truly believe that all your love and cooking and are healing and nourishing Jean and her family.   Thank you.

Thanks to all of Jeanie's great friends, the meal blog is off to a solid start.  today is the first day of dinner deliveries, and the first two weeks are covered.   If anyone is still having technical difficulty, please feel free to call me (516) 236-0636. 

Google Calendar info

For those on the chefs list who need calendar access, when you click on the google calendar icon on the bottom right of the calendar, you will be prompted to sign into the calendar. Use your regular email address because that is the email that I used to grant you calendar access.  No need to set up a gmail or new address.

Calendar help...

Barb (sister) and Janet - since, you've both tackled the calendar... if you have any troubleshooting tips or better instructins that we can share with the other chefs, please post them here.  Some are having trouble. My original steps are listed below in the How to Sign Up post, but I must be missing a step because some are having trouble.  For anyone completely frustrated, just tell us what date you want (post a comment), and we'll put it in the calendar for you - thanks everyone

Hooray for Janet

Ok girlfriends.... Janet was the first to work through the technology and is on the calendar!  Rumor has it she might be the best chef, too!  Anyway, just wanted to give the chefs a gentle reminder to stick with it and choose a date.  If you want to be on the dinner chain and your name is not on the Iron Chef list to the left, let me know and I'll add you (which will also give you calendar access).  Instructions are below for your reference.  Blessings.

While this is a test to see if I can actually author a post here at Brown Haven, I'd just like to say thank you to all. Jeanie has some wonderful friends and you mean so much to her.

How to sign up for Brown Haven Meals...!

See below for the list of Jean's chefs thus far... In the meantime, would all of the chefs try to access the calendar and pick a date.  Be patient, this first time using the calendar might be tricky, but it's easy afterwards. Use these procedures:

1. click on google calendar box in lower right corner of calendar
2. double click on the date you would like
3. Enter your name in the title box
4. Enter description of meal (optional, might be helpful so that the rest of the "chef"s don't duplicate)
5. Click Save at bottom
6. Go back to the blog to be sure it worked

Feel free to email with any questions. I'm no expert, but we'll get the kinks worked out. 

By the way, Peter would like lobster on Fridays!

I'm working out the kinks, not sure how many can have access to the calendar, so for those followers who will be participating in the dinner chain, let me know.  In the meantime, I'll try entering some of the email addresses to test it.  Thanks.
